Teaching

Teaching degrees create qualified educators who can manage, coordinate, organise, lead and assist students of different ages and with different capabilities. The main goals of a teacher should be to instil in their students a love of learning and to support them in their ongoing pursuits for growth and development.

The main focus of the initial years of Teaching is to help students acquire an in-depth understanding of subjects such as, humanities, natural sciences, mathematics, languages, and computer education. With progress, study topics will focus on learning teaching and pedagogical methods. Future teachers can concentrate on one or two specialisations that will enable them to teach adolescents and adult learners, or they can focus on general disciplines that are good for teaching younger learners.

Teaching methodologies, digital learning, social foundations, educational psychology, secondary education principles, and multicultural foundations are among the topics covered in the courses taken by students and prior to receiving their licence, aspiring teachers must also do a teaching internship. In addition, teacher-learner identity, policy, schooling and society, creating learning-teaching settings, cultural sensitivity, comprehension of children and adolescents, curriculum development, and more are key teaching competencies.
