Depending on your reasons for visiting the UK, the length and type of your studies, your circumstances, and your skills, the UK offers various visa options. The student must, however, make sure that the visa is appropriate for their needs and wants before applying for one.

• Short-term Study Visa
• General Student Visa (Tier 4)
• Child student visa (Tier 4)

A maintenance requirement that covers tuition and living expenses is required for a Tier 4 (General) student visa.

If the length of the course is more than one year, the Confirmation of Acceptance Studies will specify the charge, and if it is less than a year, you must have funds to cover the entire course. To receive a CAS, a security of £4000 towards your tuition is also necessary. You must list any contributions you made in your CAS.

If the money spent for maintenance is not kept in your account or your parent's account for a continuous period of 28 days, you will not meet the requirements of the Home Office and may even be denied access to the programme.

Financial Evidence:

Your bank account, your parent's account, or a joint account where you are named must contain the funds you need to demonstrate. The required supporting documentation if you rely on your parents' financial help are as follows:

• Confirmation and consent letter from your parents.
• Birth certificate (in English)
• Parent’s financial records.

Unless the funds that were given by someone other than your parents are placed into your account or a shared account, the Home Office will not consider financial documentation from anybody other than you or your guardians.

Required Documents

The following documents are needed by the Home Office in order to approve your application:

• Personal bank statements
• Building society passbooks
• Letter from the bank.
• letter from an official financial sponsor
• Letter from a regulated financial institution confirming a loan from the national government, state or regional government, a government-sponsored student loan company or part of an academic or educational loan scheme
• Certificates of deposit

Student Visa with Dependants

The student may bring family members with him or her to the UK, but they must be:

• Your spouse or civil partner
• Your unmarried or same-sex partner
• Your child (under 18 years)

Depending on the length of the course, the location of the study, or whether you have finished the course or are still learning, dependents must be able to sustain themselves financially.

Documents Required

The following records must be submitted when applying for a student visa:

• A valid passport.
• Evidence of financial capabilities.
• Details of accommodation and travel plans.
• IELTS test scores.

• Acceptance letter from your desired Institute.
• Tuberculosis (TB) test (if you come from a country that requires you to take the test or if you plan to stay in the UK for more than six months)
• Certified translation of documents in foreign languages
• A blank page in your passport for your visa.
• Minors must provide the contact details of a parent or guardian in the home country.
• Academic certificate and transcripts.
• English language certificates.
• Accommodation and travel plans.
• If not a national, authorization from home country to reside in the UK.
• Financial details of the sponsor.
• ATAS certificates for research subjects.
