Visa Requirements

The criteria for a student visa vary depending on your place of origin. However, a visa is required to enter Poland. Poland is a member of the Schengen zone; thus, with a Schengen visa, you can also travel to other EU nations.

EU/EEA Students: Students from the EU / EEA do not need to apply for a student visa, but they must register their presence in Poland if they want to remain longer than three months.

You must register your stay at your region's Voivodship (Provincial) Office within 90 days of arrival. This is a free registration, and you will receive a registration certificate as evidence of your stay.

Non-EU Students: Non-EU students must apply for a student visa to study in Poland. You will need to complete your application with a Polish Consulate and submit your application together with all essential papers and visa costs. Your application will be reviewed within 15 days. When you arrive in Poland, you must apply for a Temporary Stay Card and Temporary Residence Permit 45 days before your visa expires. This permission allows you to cross the Polish border as often as possible.

EU students with valid health insurance cards are entitled to free healthcare. However, students must have international medical insurance before landing in Poland for free medical treatment.
