Education is given a lot of weight in Singapore's educational system. Students acquire the information and abilities necessary to thrive in a highly competitive environment on a global scale. Institutions of higher learning offer high standards of instruction. Singapore is home to several highly regarded international institutions.
Some of the most outstanding universities need foundation programmes, pushing students to apply after completing their undergraduate studies. Some provide diploma programmes that enable graduates to enrol in institutions right away. However, other institutions with foundation programmes would only permit students to continue their studies there.
Pre-university: These courses, available at several colleges and universities, are designed to assist students in renewing their knowledge of the English language and other specialised disciplines.

To be eligible to apply for a bachelor's degree programme, students must have completed 12 years of formal education. Some institutions allow applicants with 11 years of education, but the applicants must also take the SAT and have a solid secondary education diploma.
International applicants have a few more admission options if a student diploma is not accepted, and these are listed below:
Postgraduate: Postgraduate programmes last for one to two years, and MBA programmes for one to 1.5 years. The length of the course depends on the university applied to. Additionally, the programs can be full-time or part-time. They can contain lectures, seminars, and group or individual work as part of the final dissertation, which requires an entire study period or the last semester. Some master's degree programmes have no requirement for a dissertation or final dissertation.
Doctoral/Ph.D: Students can pursue doctoral studies after finishing their postgraduate courses. A research doctorate involves an independent study that students must pass before moving on to an interview, where they must vocally defend their thesis under the guidance of their academic supervisors.
