The University of Strathclyde is a public research university located in Glasgow, Scotland. It is Scotland’s third-largest university. Founded in 1796, it took its name from the historic Kingdom of Strathclyde. The University campus, John Anderson Campus has excellent facilities such as the I.T., the library, a laundrette, Strathclyde Sport, security, health and wellbeing services, faith and spirituality services, disability and wellbeing, nursery, clubs and societies, Students’ Union, and many cafés and restaurants. There are four main faculties namely engineering, humanities, and social sciences, science, and the Strathclyde Business School.

At Strathclyde University students are provided guidance right from the first year, throughout their degree and beyond graduation with making a career decision that best suits their personality, skills, and strength. Graduates from this University are eligible to use the Careers Service for up to 5 years after graduation. Career consultants are available at the university to provide students the support they need regarding choosing the right career, filing applications, and creating a CV. Student Services:

Student services are an important part of university life. Strathclyde has a Careers Support Team that provides career information, seminars, advice, and guidance to help students and graduates achieve their career goals. An Education Enhancement team is also provided which enhances the quality of learning through staff development, education strategy, innovation, student feedback, technology-enhanced learning, massive open online courses, and learning analytics. They also provide training courses for learning technology. Student services also include the Disability and Wellbeing Service with a range of advisors specialising in disability, health, mental health and counseling.

Library:

The University of Strathclyde provides a huge library full of books and resources. The library is easy to navigate, and there are several spacious study spaces for a tranquil study environment.

Accommodation:

Accommodation in Strathclyde ranges from standard rooms to en-suite. A few include Andrew Ure Hall, Birkbeck Court, Chancellors Hall, Forbes Hall, Garnett Hall, James Goold Hall, James Young Hall, and Murray Hall. Resident Assistants are appointed in each of the residences to keep students safe, secured, and satisfied with the services.

Sports facilities:

Students at Strathclyde can access sports facilities like their popular swimming pool which has a sauna and steam room, a fitness suite or gym with more than 180 stations, two sports halls and squash courts, dance studios and SSPE rooms, and playing fields.

Medical services:

The University has a General Health Support centre which is a medical service assisting students in need of health-related issues, minor illnesses, and common ailments. Disability and Wellbeing Services are also provided for mental health, disability, and rape crisis support. Clubs:

The best way to settle in the university is by joining in the activities, clubs, and societies headed by the Strath Union (Strathclyde University’s Students’ Union). There are over 206 clubs and societies, the most popular being Aero Innovation StrathAIS, Arts and Craft Society, Catholic Society, Debating Society, DMEM Society, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Society, Feminist Society, Film Appreciation Society, and LGBT+ Society.
