The University of Portsmouth is a modern multidisciplinary university in the United Kingdom, located on the British island of Portsmouth. Park House was established in 1908 as a community college and public library with a focus on chemistry and engineering. After World War II, in 1945, it began emphasizing arts and humanities subjects. It was renamed the Portsmouth Polytechnic Institute in 1969. Later, the Further and Higher Act of 1992 elevated the polytechnic to the level of a university, and it was subsequently called the University of Portsmouth.

The university is spread across two campuses: the University Quarter and Langstone Campus. The University Quarter is the university's main campus, and it is located in the heart of the city. It has the latest teaching facilities, residence halls, and a well-equipped university library with a large collection of materials and computers. On the eastern side of Portsea Island is the Langstone Campus that is located in Milton. The university's athletic fields along with student housing, cafeterias, and lounges are all located on this campus.

Student Service:

UOP’s Careers and Employability Service can help students find part-time jobs, volunteering work, work experience, and graduate roles. They also assist students in career planning. Besides, the university hosts seminars, fairs, and assists students with CV and cover letter preparation, interview practice, and the establishment of start-up businesses. Support and guidance for finances, disabilities, and academics, as well as nursery facilities, chaplaincy and prayer facilities, and cafes are among the other services available.
