The University of Liverpool was established in 1881 as University College Liverpool. It gained its Royal Charter in 1903 and became an independent University with the right to award degrees. The University of Liverpool is a founding member of the Russel Group (association of 24 public research universities in the UK) and the N8 Group (a partnership of the 8 most research-intensive Universities in Northern England).  The University of Liverpool is also one of the original ‘Red Brick’ Civic Universities. The main campus of the University is located in Liverpool but it also has satellite campuses in London, Singapore, and Suzhou in China.

The University of Liverpool is a research-based university offering a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs in a number of subject areas.

The University has three faculties:

  • Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.
  • Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
  • Faculty of Science and Engineering.

Each faculty comprises a number of Schools offering specialized courses. Besides these, the University of Liverpool also offers a number of online courses.

The University of Liverpool has over 27,000 students out of which more than 8000 are international students coming from over 130 countries. Student Services:

The University of Liverpool a range of welfare and support services to its students in order to assist them in any issues or matters. The University has hi-tech laboratories, art studios, libraries and computer centres and a number of research centres to conduct extensive research. Students of the University get global exposure through international seminars, exhibitions and conclaves that the University organizes throughout the year. Part-time job opportunities are also given to students who wish to earn some extra money and gain job experience.

Accommodation:

The University of Liverpool offers a number of accommodation options for its students to choose from. Over 4500 rooms are available for students in the Greenbank Student Village or at the city campus residences. Students can choose from catered or self-catered options and the rent also covers electricity bills and Wi-Fi services.

Health services are available in and around the University of Liverpool including an on-campus General Practice.
