About
Ulster University was founded in 1968. It was first known as the New University of Ulster after which it merged with the Ulster Polytechnic in 1984 to form the University of Ulster. Situated in Northern Ireland, it became a highly ranked public university with a national and international reputation for excellence in teaching, learning, research, innovation, and technology. It is a member of the European University Association and the Association of Commonwealth Universities. The University has affiliations with major universities in Ireland and universities in the UK.
The University stretches over four campuses, Belfast Campus, Coleraine Campus, Jordanstown Campus, and Magee Campus. The University also has branch campuses like the London Branch Campus, the Qatar Branch Campus, and the Birmingham Branch Campus. The University is home to approximately 27,000 students from different communities and countries. Organized into four faculties, each campus has a number of subject areas, courses, and programs. These include the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences that include Law, English, History, Media and Journalism; Faculty of Computing, Engineering, and the Built Environment; Faculty of Life and Health Sciences and Ulster University Business School. Each faculty offers courses and programs for undergraduate study, postgraduate study, short courses and CPD, eLearning, research, and Ph.D.

- Student Services: Student services and facilities are provided to assist students with their academic life and these include the Library, ICT, and Reprographic Services. International Conference of New Trends in Computing Sciences (ICTCS) provides and supports PC systems for university examinations. Students can have access to IT facilities including teaching rooms and video conferencing suites that have over 20 IT laboratories and 1500 student PCs.
- Library: Each campus has its own library with study spaces, fixed PCs, quiet/silent study zones, furniture, and other equipment designed to give a flexible learning environment for students.
- Arts and Culture: The Belfast campus in the University offers programs in architecture, hospitality, photography, digital animation, and event management. They also frequently host art exhibitions and fashion shows.
