Solent University was founded in 1856 and was popularly known as Southampton College of Art. Solent University is a public research university situated in Southampton, United Kingdom. The Solent University operates at three main locations namely Warsash, City, and Timsbury Lake. The different academic faculties offered at Solent University include the Faculty of Business, Law and Digital Technologies (which includes the Solent Law School and the Solent Business School), the Faculty of Sport, the Faculty of Creative Industries, the Warsash Maritime School, Architecture, School of media arts and technology and Engineering and Health and Social Science.

Student Services

The University provides access to a variety of specialised student support services. A distinct central space, known as the Student Hub, has been allocated by the University where all the students can share their concerns relating to their course or any other difficulty in university. For international students, the university assists with immigration, regulations, and Visa through the university's international advisors. The university provides academic support through the academic affairs support team. The students have access to disability support and Solent Futures.

Library

The Solent library is open 24 hours a day during peak terms and provides free Wi-Fi throughout. The students can access over 150,000 online and print volumes and over 33,000 e-journals. The library is equipped with private study areas, 100 laptops, over 400 PCs and Macs as well as a kitchen for students.

Accommodation

Solent University offers five halls of residences that are well equipped and will meet the requirements of the students. The university offers guaranteed accommodation for first-year students applying at the required time. Along with first-year students, officer cadets, returning students, summer students, and postgraduates all have access to University-owned housing. The residence hall includes Chantry, Kimber, David Moxon, Hamwic, and Deanery. The university also offers off-campus residence where students can enroll under the Southampton Accreditation Scheme for Student Housing.

Sports facilities and clubs

The University offers excellent sports facilities to its students. The university has built different parks and complexes for students namely the East Park Terrace, Test Park, and Solent Sports Complex. Along with the parks and complex, the university has an inbuilt sports hall that can be used for volleyball, wheelchair rugby, badminton, futsal, and basketball. The parks are used for hosting competitive and recreational leagues for the students. The parks are well equipped with training pitches and can accommodate 1260 spectators for any league.

Food services

The University offers different options for the students with plenty of food choices and beverages. The artisan, the dock restaurant, east park deli, costa coffee, and c-store are the places built within the campus for students.

Students must register with a practitioner near where they live when at the university to have access to healthcare.
