Romania has a wide range of student accommodations, including on-campus student accommodation, self-catering student accommodation, private student houses and student residences, shared and private apartments and homestays. Shared private apartments are also a good option for students who want to save up some money and in these apartments, students have their own room but have a common bathroom and kitchen.

For renting a student dormitory in Romania, a student has to register and obtain a letter of admission from the university that the student is enrolled to and to do this, students have to apply through the university administration. • Shared apartments: this is the best way to cut down the housing expense and avoid staying alone in a foreign country.

• Advance payment for accommodation: students that pay an advance rent of 3-6 months or even longer can negotiate and get a drastic reduction on their monthly rent.

• Buying an apartment: Some parents prefer to buy apartments for their children instead of paying monthly rent. This is common for parents of medical students who have come for a course of at least 6 years.
